Small tool. Massive impact.
The Rotary Club of Hoedspruit, together with Hlokomela, a local non-profit organization, is partnering to bring practical water solutions to communities that need them most.
EcoRollers are simple but powerful—durable rolling water containers designed to make water collection easier and safer in rural areas. Instead of carrying heavy buckets on their heads, families can roll up to 90 litres of water at a time—saving hours, reducing physical strain, and easing the burden of daily water collection.
Recent deliveries have reached Mabins, Finale, and Acornhoek villages, where EcoRollers are now in the hands of households, immediately improving access to water and changing how daily life unfolds.
The impact is both practical and personal. Fewer trips. Less exhaustion. More time for family, work, and school.
This initiative is fully funded by generous donors from Canada and the United States. Only minimal local costs cover delivery and registration, and where possible, beneficiaries contribute a small fee—helping foster a sense of ownership and pride that supports long-term use.
In total, 50 EcoRollers have been secured for communities across the region.
A simple solution—delivered today—with lasting impact.
